Mr. Kuroda
Miyazaki
(Grower of Japanese radishes, tobacco plants, rice, etc.)
We grow Japanese radishes for pickling in 2.2 ha and tobacco plants in 2.8 ha. This is a major production area of Japanese radishes, and in winter, you see them everywhere hung down to dry in the sun. We have been using Super Soiler for 4-5 years now for harvesting them. We use a 18 ps tractor to pull it, and without Super Soiler, my farming would never be of this scale at all. It has eased my work to such a great extent.
Harvesting is carried out from December to January. After digging them up, we dry them and ship to pickle manufacturers. Since each Japanese radish dries at a different speed, it is impossible to tell our precise volume of shipping. Before planting seedlings we spray the soil and mulch with a plastic sheet. I heard that Kawabe supplies an optional compaction roller for Super Soiler, and am thinking of trying it instead of mulching.
